First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky said that the structure of spring sown area in Ukraine will change somewhat in 2023, and the area sown with oilseeds is expected to increase higher.
He said that the area planted with oilseeds (rapeseed, soybeans and sunflower seeds) will increase because the price of oilseeds has increased, while the logistics costs have decreased. Farmers can earn more income from growing oilseeds.
Meanwhile, wheat production in Ukraine will decrease in 2023, but will still reach twice the domestic demand.
According to Vysotsky, the current presence of financial liquidity complicates field preparation.
