On October 20, the Ukrainian independent news agency quoted the Ministry of agricultural policy and food as saying that Ukraine plans to export 25.3 million tons of wheat in the market year 2021-2022 (July 2021-june 2022), an increase of more than 50% over the previous year. It is reported that 25.3 million tons is the wheat export line agreed by the Ukrainian government and agricultural producers. In 2020-2021, the export line agreed by agricultural producers and the government is 17.5 million tons, but the actual export is only 16.5 million tons.
In 2021, Ukraine’s grain harvest broke two records, namely, wheat output (32.9 million tons) and barley output (10.1 million tons).
The Ministry of economic affairs predicts that the total output of grain crops in 2021 will be the same as the record breaking output in 2019, about 75 million tons.
From the beginning of the market year 2021-2022 to September 20, 2021, the export volume of grain crops in Ukraine reached 11.55 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 10%, i.e. 1.1 million tons.
