Tajikistan to put two fertilizer plants into operation soon

Tajikistan Satellite News Agency reported in Dushanbe on July 18, according to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, two fertilizer plants will be completed and put into operation in the near future to fill the gap of fertilizer production in Tajikistan. One of them is Asia Chemical Company, which was formerly known as Azot, a joint venture in Tajikistan. The plant will be put into operation this fall, with a planned annual output of 180,000 tons of nitrogen fertilizer, urea and potassium nitrate; the other is the Tajik Aluminum Company fertilizer plant construction project, which will be put into operation before September this year, with plans to produce calcium superphosphate, ammonium phosphate and other phosphate fertilizers.

According to the official data, the future of the tower grain planting area of about 700,000 hectares, to ensure its grain production, need about 750,000 tons of fertilizer. At present, the tower does not yet have potash production conditions, mainly relying on Russia and Belarus to import potash.
