MOSCOW, Sept. 1 (Sputnik) – Nordic Green, the largest tomato farm in Trelleborg, southern Sweden, has decided to temporarily shut down production for two months during the upcoming winter due to high electricity prices, according to the Swedish evening newspaper Aftonbladet.
Nordic Greens, the largest tomato producer in Trelleborg, Skåne, Sweden, has decided to shut down production for two months this winter, the newspaper said.
The newspaper quoted Nordic Green managing director Mads Pedersen as saying, “Producing in the winter in the usual pattern will cost us an additional 6 to 8 million Swedish kronor, an expense that is considerable and difficult to recover from customers. …… The electricity bill is now are six times higher than they were a year ago.”
