World Agrochemical Network Chinese: To meet the broad needs of U.S. farmers, Cordiva recently launched four plant protection products, including three herbicides and one biologic, ranging from powerful weed control and cutting-edge nutrient management that will protect a wide range of crops, including corn, soybeans and grains. Here are the four new products from Cordova:
Enversa™ herbicide (ethephon): A new, patented formulation developed over a decade as a residual solution for soybeans to control tough grass and broadleaf weeds, including waterhemp and purple amaranth, while providing excellent crop safety. This crop safety comes from the scientists’ development of Codiva’s unique encapsulated ethephon on the market, where the product enters the soil and forms a residual barrier. enversa will be the residual bucket mix of choice for Enlist One® herbicide for Enlist E3® soybeans. In addition to soybeans, Enversa will be used in a variety of other crops including cotton, corn and sorghum. The product is pending registration with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and is expected to be available in 2024.
Tolvera™ herbicide (tolpyralate + bromoxynil): This is a cereal solution containing a new active ingredient. Offering two modes of action, it is an excellent tool for cereal growers to combat weed resistance. tolvera herbicide will control tough weeds such as ground elder, Russian thistle, waterhemp, green and yellow dogwood and sheep’s-foot grass. The herbicide will also provide crop rotation flexibility to replant major crops, including lentils, peas, potatoes and canola, within nine months. The product is currently awaiting EPA registration and is expected to be available by the 2024 growing season.
Utrisha™ P: This is a biological product that helps farmers improve phosphorus fertilizer utilization by improving the availability of phosphorus in the ground. After application, Utrisha P colonizes the root zone of the crop, helping to enhance phosphorus acquisition and coverage by the crop throughout the growing season.Utrisha P complements traditional phosphorus fertilizers for a wide range of crops, including corn, soybeans, wheat and potatoes, tomatoes and strawberries.
Phosphorus is an essential nutrient that is more difficult for plants to absorb on their own. Utrisha P stimulates the use of phosphorus in the soil and helps crops absorb nutrients, in addition to promoting root growth and access to other nutrients and water to improve grain yields and deliver greater yield potential. Product will be available in limited quantities for the 2023 growing season and more widely in 2024.
Kyro™ herbicide (ethephon + benazolin + diclofenac): A postemergence corn solution that is the first product on the market to combine ethephon, benazolin and diclofenac into a premix. Kyro herbicide can be used on corn up to 24 inches tall and controls over 65 of the toughest grasses and broadleaf weeds. In controlling corn weeds, Kyro Herbicide will offer farmers three modes of action in a convenient premix formulation, an innovative solution to help control weeds resistant to glyphosate and ALS-based herbicides and prevent the development of future resistance. Product will be available in limited quantities for the 2023 growing season and more widely in 2024.
